Truman's Lindy Awards
Truman hosted its first ever Lindy Awards on April 11, 2013. Flyer Time classes submitted videos which they created to inspire the student population to do their best on the upcoming MAP tests. The videos were then watched and voted on by the entire student body. The guests arrived on the "green carpet" and enjoyed appearances from some popular stars. Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Cleopatra, Curious George and others were introduced by co-hosts Tina Fey and Jimmy Fallon.

Birds of Prey Visits 6th Grade
6th graders enjoyed a presentation from workers from the Wild Bird Sanctuary.
7th Grade Science
7th grade science students enjoyed the nice weather last week as they took the classroom outside. Students were calculating speeds by measuring distance and time.

Mrs. Badino's Science Class
Mrs. Badino's science classes spent the day experimenting with air pressure. Students and some teachers took turns climbing in a bag and then having the air drawn out with a vacuum. Students had learned that when the air inside something is taken out, the pressure from the outside air weighs down with approximately 14.5 pounds of pressure per square inch.
Dr. Sparks took her turn as well.
