Goodbye and Hello

We are saddened to say goodbye to Office Kriska who has decided to work a different shift with his precinct.

We welcome Office Blake who will be filling the post for Officer Kriska.

Mrs. Badino's Science Class

Using clay, play doh, silly putty and candy bars, students in Mrs. Badino's classes investigated how the movement of the Earth's plates cause immense forces that shape rocks and landforms.

Oregon Trail

Students in Mr. Vallis and Mrs. Hake's 6 gold team classes combined social studies and math to plan a trip on the Oregon Trail.  Students rolled dice to determine things such as how many family members they had, and how much money they'd have to buy supplies.  They then had to decide what they would need for the trip and what they could afford to buy.  They were also given a trail name and told to keep a journal of their experience.

Truman Artwork

Every day when I walk through the halls at Truman I am amazed at the incredible artwork I see hanging on our walls.  At the Condellire home we have at least 1 framed  piece of artwork hanging from each of our 4 children.  The artwork hanging at Truman are definitely worthy of framing and gracing the walls at the student artists homes.

Angry Birds Live

Angry Birds Live came to the Truman MS library, sponsored by the St. Louis County Library at Oak Bend, Laura Polak, Youth Services Specialist.  The favorite puzzle-based video game was brought to life as students made their own angry birds and evil green piggies and played a live action version of the game.

Ms. Polak also told students about the county library's programs for teens and the new Winter Reading Club for kids, teens and adults that goes from November 1 - December 31. Adults and teens are asked to read four books; kids are asked to read five hours during the two month period. Those who complete the club will be entered into a raffle to win a winter prize pack which includes such items as sleds, hand warmers, gift cards, DVDs, books, Kindles and more. Log sheets are available at all SLCL branches. Call 314-994-3300 with questions or for more information.
