GETTING TO KNOW YOU~JUSTIN JANSEN

 Meet Justin Jansen
 Mr. Jansen is one of our counselors at Truman. He is the counselor for all of 6th grade and 8th grade gold. This is his first year in this position after receiving his Bachelors in Psychology from the University of Kentucky and a Masters of Education in Counseling from University of Missouri - St. Louis. Mr. Jansen likes sports and his favorite teams are the St. Louis Cardinals and the Kentucky Wildcats. He doesn't have a favorite food because he likes anything.

6th Grade Science

 Mr. Althage and Mr. Baumgartner's 6th grade science classes were using the microscope to compare the cells from animals and plants.  On this day they were looking at cheek cells and onion cells.

Thursday-Blast from the Past-Dress up like you lived in the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s.

GETTING TO KNOW YOU~BETH HAUSNER

Meet Beth Hausner
Mrs. Hausner is the ELL Teacher at Truman.  She has been teacher for 5 years, all at Lindbergh.  She received her Bachelors degree from MO State in Springfield and her Masters from Webster University.
She is married to her husband Craig and they have a little boy named Blake.  
Mrs. Hausner's hobbies are reading and playing with Blake.  Her favorite book is Pride and Prejudice and she loves anything with peanut butter.

Margaret Peterson Haddix

Award winning, bestselling, Mark Twain nominated author Margaret Peterson Haddix visited Truman this morning.  She gave a very interesting presentation about her books and career as an author which was then followed with a question and answer period.  The books by Ms. Haddix were available for purchase  where she also autographed them.

Mothers Club/PTO

Truman's Mother's Club/Parent Teacher Organization (MCPTO) met on September 15th in the band room.  Click here to be redirected to the MCPTO site. 








ATTENTION TRUMAN PARENTS!
We would like to take this opportunity to invite you to join TRUMAN Mothers' Club/Parent Teacher Organization (Truman MCPTO) for the 2011-2012 school year and become actively involved in your child's school.
Regular DAY meetings are usually held the third Thursday at 9:00 A.M.
EVENING Meetings are held once a quarter in the Library at 7 p.m. in September, November, February, April.

Please help Truman MCPTO further by including the suggested membership fee of $5.00 (checks should be made payable to Truman MCPTO), have your student return it to the school office, bring it with you to the first meeting or follow the mailing instructions on the form.

GETTING TO KNOW YOU~VICKY STANFORD

Meet Vicky Stanford

This is Ms. Stanford's 7th year in the Lindbergh School District.  She worked 2 years at the high school and 4 years at Sperreng.  She is one of Truman's two librarians and also the district's library coordinator. 
Vicky previously worked in retail and was a treasurer for a company in Soulard.
Ms. Stanford is an avid reader (of course) and her favorite book is Life as We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfeffer.  She is a frustrated artist and someday plans to be a famous children's author.  (Watch for
 The Babysitter with the Big Blue Bag, coming to a bookstore near you.)

She says she has  600+ children at Truman, but at home, she has one crazy dog named Maniac Martha, who has earned her name!
