Spanish Class~Day of the Dead

En la clase de español, los estudiantes del octavo grado celebraron el Día de los Muertos, un día festivo muy importante en el país de México y otros países hispanohablantes normalmente celebrado el dos de noviembre.  Ellos vieron videos cortos para aprender más del significado del día festivo.  También, dibujaron máscaras de calaveras (un símbolo muy importante del Día de los Muertos) mientras gozaban de pan de muerto (pan tradicional sirvado durante el día festivo) y Jarritos (un refresco mexicano).  Por favor, ¡pregunten a los estudiantes de español qué aprendieron durante esta celebración divertida!

In Spanish class, 8th grade students celebrated Day of the Dead,  an important holiday in Mexico and other Spanish speaking countries normally celebrated on November 2nd.  They watched short videos to learn more about the significance of the holiday.  Also, they drew skull masks (an important symbol of Day of the Dead) while they enjoyed pan de muerto (bread of the dead: traditional bread served during the holiday) and Jarritos (a Mexican soda).  Please, ask the Spanish students what they learned during this fun celebration!

Café Day in World Cultures

Student Council's Mix It Up Day!

Student Council held a mix it up activity.  During their Flyer Time classes students took a survey to determine what type of personality they have and then given a color to represent that personality.  Then when they entered the cafeteria they were encouraged to sit with other students of the same color but someone that they didn't know or mix it up!

Trend sponsored Red Ribbon Week and had a theme for each day.

Monday- "We're happy for Red Ribbon Week"

Tuesday-"Sock it to Drugs"

Wear crazy socks and make new friends at lunch.

Wednesday-"Drugs turn you inside out"

Wear your clothes inside out.

Thursday-'Hats off the a drug free life"

Students could donate .50 and wear a hat.
