Where's my Chair?
Ms. Frank's math classes have turned in their chairs and are using balls in their place. She read that using the balls as chairs helped students stay focused. It also helps students use energy (to stay on the ball) and posture. So she got funding through DonorsChoose.org and received enough to purchase a set of stability balls for her class. I asked students how they liked the new "furniture" and they all said they really liked the balls. One student said it helped her stay focused on her work.

Kickball
Mrs. Hake and Ms. Frank are the sponsors of intramural sports at Truman. Kickball is being played now and students seem to enjoy themselves. The games are played like neighborhood games have been played in the past. There are no referees, instead if there is a close call they do "rock, paper, scissors" to decide if they are safe or out.

Truman Cares
Truman raised over $2000 for the Gapsch family. Students who donated at least $1.00 were able to wear a hat for the day. The Gapsch family lost 3 members of their family in a house fire. Mia Gapsch, a student at Sperreng was the only one to survive the fire. More fundraisers are being planned throughout the district.
