Goodbye and Hello

We are saddened to say goodbye to Office Kriska who has decided to work a different shift with his precinct.

We welcome Office Blake who will be filling the post for Officer Kriska.

Mrs. Badino's Science Class

Using clay, play doh, silly putty and candy bars, students in Mrs. Badino's classes investigated how the movement of the Earth's plates cause immense forces that shape rocks and landforms.

Oregon Trail

Students in Mr. Vallis and Mrs. Hake's 6 gold team classes combined social studies and math to plan a trip on the Oregon Trail.  Students rolled dice to determine things such as how many family members they had, and how much money they'd have to buy supplies.  They then had to decide what they would need for the trip and what they could afford to buy.  They were also given a trail name and told to keep a journal of their experience.

Truman Artwork

Every day when I walk through the halls at Truman I am amazed at the incredible artwork I see hanging on our walls.  At the Condellire home we have at least 1 framed  piece of artwork hanging from each of our 4 children.  The artwork hanging at Truman are definitely worthy of framing and gracing the walls at the student artists homes.

President Signs Bills into Laws

"President" Straatmann signed 2 bills into law today at Truman.  Bill  SB288 was a bill that designates the last Friday of each as "Spirit Day."  Mr. Straatmann explained that he felt this bill would be good for the character environment at Truman.  Bill SB285 was passed but with provisions.  This bill will allow students to eat their lunch outside.  The provisions are that the students will need a pass with teacher recommendations and it will begin in the 4th quarter.

Here are the sponsors of the bills.

Little Patriots Embraced

The Middle School Interact Club is hosting a toy drive for Little Patriots Embraced.  The toys will go to children whose parents are serving in the military. These kids are heroes, because they are sacrificing mom or dad over the holidays!   The donation box is located in the Truman Lobby next to the tree.  Thank you for any donations of new, unwrapped toys. The deadline for donations is December 14th. Thank YOU!
